<p>The root foot is for epiphytic plants (1) such as orchids, ferns etc. A container (2) of porous, moisture permeable clay or similar material accepts water which contains nutrients. This container has a roughened surface (3) and can be used as a hanging vase to support the plants by hanging from an overhead support. The clay container may consist of an upright cylindrical shape with a flat bottom. A variety of different shapes may be used if desired.</p> |
