Solid or liquid residues in cavities such as, for example, drilling and thread-cutting chips as well as coolants and lubricants used during drilling or milling are removed according to the invention by a pressurised gas being blown as a concentrated stream into the cavity and being drawn out of its cavity in such a way as to be directed over its full cross-section. This prevents foreign bodies to be carried away from swirling freely through the atmosphere and endangering the operator. A device suitable for this consists of a suction tube which can be placed against the opening of the cavity and in which at least one blow pipe is arranged which can be inserted into the cavity. Particularly convenient is the design of the blow pipe as an ejector with the means of diverting the blown-in gas from the working gas of the ejector. <IMAGE> |
