Apparatus for producing pharmaceutical &c. tablets having at least two layers comprises sets of upper and lower punches which co-operate with corresponding dies 11 mounted in an intermittently rotatable table 12, feeding shoes 10 for introducing layers of powdered material into the dies at filling stations I and II, and a slide 19 which may be operated to cut off the supply of the upper layer of powdered material at station II in order to provide unfinished tablets for weighing &c. Complete tablets are compressed at station III and removed on to a conveyer 16 at station IV by an ejector 15 having an aperture therein closed by a lever, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). When sample unfinished tablets are moulded and the slide 19 covers the die 11 at station II, the lever is removed and the unfinished tablets pass through the aperture and are removed on conveyer 36 by ejector 35. |
