PURPOSE:To obtain a titled hot rolled steel strip which permits considerable omission of skin-pass rolling by providing rolling rolls having one or more crown rolls of variable outside diameters between the finishing mills and a coiler of a hot rolling line and controlling the roll crown of the rolling mills. CONSTITUTION:Rolling mills 8 having one or more variable crown rolls which are so designed as to permit expansion of roll outside diameters are installed between the final finishing stand 3 and coiler 5 of the hot rolling line. The flatness correction of a slab is accomplished by controlling the roll crowns of the rolling mills 8. Thus, hot rolled steel strip of good flatness which permits considerable saving of skin-pass rolling is obtainable simply by controlling the pressure of the variable crown rolls. |
