This invention relates to a method and a novel composition for the prophylaxis of apple peel spot. Thus one aspect of this invention relates to a composition for the prophylaxis of apple peel spot, particularly "Jonathan" peel spot, characterized by containing at least one light-protective agent optionally along with at least one other biologically active substance, furthermore a carrier, diluent or other auxiliary agent commonly applied in plant-protecting compositions. Another aspect of the invention relates to a process for the prophylaxis of apple peel spot, particularly "Jonathan" peel spot, characterized in that the apple is treated with a composition containing at least one light-protective agent optionally along with at least one other known biologically active substance, furthermore a carrier, diluent or auxiliary agent commonly applied in plant protecting composition.
