Self-complexing galactomannan gum blends which exhibit delayed gelling at acidic pH levels have increased utility in the manufacture of packaged, gelled explosive slurries by providing favorable cross-linking and gelling time rates by use of an oxidising agent for trivalent antimony salts which is selected from alkali metal periodates and permanganates. |
