PURPOSE:To reduce the loss caused by connecting a tail fiber, by connecting the tail fiber at the output side of the optical repeater and the cable optical fiber of the repeating section so that the optical output in the remote edge of the optical fiber can be maximum. CONSTITUTION:The AGC circuit by which the mean value of an output pulse signal can be kept constant at all times is added to the optical output circuit in the repeater 31, and the mean value of the optical output in the tail fiber 51 is constant. And, after the tail fiber 51 and the fiber terminal 21 have been located on the connector having the magnified observation function so that an output of the receiver 6 can be maximum, they are connected by means of heating. After the tail fiber 51 has been connected, the fiber terminal 22 is connected with the input side tail fiber 52 of the next stage repeater 32, but as for the tail fiber 52, the connection loss in this case can be neglected since the light receiving surface area of the photodetector is large. In this way, the loss caused by connection can be reduced. |
