PURPOSE:To enable easy counting of radioactive rays by forming an energy spectrum based on input pulses and making the spectrum meet a set spectrum after application of a prearranged treatment. CONSTITUTION:The following parts are provided: a peak hold circuit 6 which holds the crest value of input pulse, A/D conversion circuit 7 which converts an output from the circuit 6, memory circuit 8 which inputs a conversion output as its address data, an adder 9 which adds (+1) to an address data for the circuit 8 and feeds back the added value to the memory circuit 8 and central processing unit 11 which detects a crest value from a histogram corresponding to a radioactive ray energy spectrum memorized by the memory 8. Under this constitution, all the pulses inputs are absorbed, an energy spectrum is prepared, the spectrum obtained is mathematically processed so that it may coincide with a set energy spectrum.
