PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain high-resolution vivid color pictures, by providing a solid image pickup device, a filter array, and a color separating circuit to make it possible to simplify and facilitate color separation. CONSTITUTION:CCD 1 forms plural channel stoppers 2 at an equal pictch in the horizontal direction and forms plural potential barriers 3 at an equal pitch in the vertical direction and forms plural picture elements 4 arranged two-dimensionally divisionally. Meanwhile, color filter array 5 is constituted by arranging three kinds of color filter different in permeating color from one another, namely, green filters 6G, red filters 6R, and blue filters 6B alternately two-dimensionally. Color filter array 5 is arranged oppositely to respective picture elements 4 of CCD 1 with a shift corresponding to the 1/4 picture element in the vertical direction. The color separating circuit reads out picture element signal of the optical image, which is focused on CCD 1 provided with color filter array 5, successively and synthesizes picture element signals of adjacent picture elements 4 to perform color separation. Thus, stable and sure color signals can be obtained. |
