PURPOSE:To safely and readily operate a liquid-cooled rotor by providing a valve which opens and closes in response to the pressure in the liquid supply passage in a liquid exhaust passage at the liquid supply and exhaust base tube of double pipe structure, and closing the exhaust passage as a result of the decrease in the supply liquid pressure, thereby stopping the exhaust of the cooling liquid. CONSTITUTION:A cooling liquid supply and exhaust base tube 5 made in double pipe structure is provided at the end of a rotary shaft 1a in such a manner that the interior of the inner pipe 5a is used as the liquid suppy passage 5c, and the intermediate between the inner and the outer pipes 5a and 5b is used as the exhaust passage 5d. A valve 20 is provided before the exhaust hole 13 communicating with the unpressurized collecting chamber 10 from the passage 5d. The valve 20 is connected through a valve rod to a slide ring 22, and is opened and closed by the liquid pressure from the hole 25 and the spring 23. Thus, if the liquid pressure is decreased regardless of the rotation or stoppage of the rotor, the valve 20 is closed at the exhaust passage, thereby maintaining the cooling liquid always within the rotor for safety operation. |
