<p>PURPOSE:To effect precise and automatic positioning of the tire with a wheel it is fitted to a car body, by relatively rotating and moving against the tire a center guide having pins that is to be inserted into holes for bolts for the wheel. CONSTITUTION:The tire is supported upright in a tire receiver 3, the center guide 5 that has been previously positioned to a common hole to tires having different diameters is inserted into the common hole A where it is temporarily stopped, the tire 1 is positioned to be aligned with the axis of the center guide 5 using a vertically movable shaft 4, and then again the center guide 5 is advanced so that the tapered surface is engaged with a center hole 21 of the wheel. At this time, pins 14 abut on the wheel. At this time, pins 14 abut on the wheel, a detector 40 is actuated to rotate the pins 14 until the pins 14 correspond to bolt holes 22, and when the pins 14 correspond to the bolt holes 22 the pins 14 are projected and inserted into the bolt holes 22, so that the positioning and centering of the tire 1 is completed.
