1383774 Piperidine derivatives ROUSSEL UCLAF 15 May 1972 [14 May 1971 (2)] 31722/74 Divided out of 1383773 Heading C2C Novel compounds I in which R is H or 1-4 C alkyl; Z<SP>1</SP> is H or 1-10 C alkyl; n is 0, 1 or 2; A is H, -COR 1 or -COOR 2 , R 1 is polymethoxyphenyl or 1-18 C alkyl optionally containing an -O- radical or a double bond and R 2 is 1-15 C straight chain alkyl are prepared by reaction of compounds II with either LiAlH 4 in the presence of a Lewis acid or Z-Mg-Hal (Hal is Cl, Br or I) to give compounds IV in which A is H; optional acylation to give compounds IV in which A is -COR 1 or -COOR 2 ; and catalytic hydrogenation to remove the benzyl group. The compounds IV are also claimed per se. 8 - Benzyl - 1,4 - dioxa - 8 - aza - spiro - [4,5]- decane is prepared by reaction of ethylene glycol with 1-benzyl-4-piperidone. |
