A process for manufacturing heterocyclic derivatives (I) used for effective antihistamines and antacids is described. Guanidine derivatives (1; X = S or NH: Y = O or S; m = 0-4: n = 1-4; R1 = H, halogen or C1-6 alkyl; R2 = H, C1-10 alkyl or C1-6 alkaloyl; A = 3,4-dioxocyclobutene-1,2-diol; B = C1-6 alkoxy) are prepared by reacting compound(II) and B-H compound.
