<p>A "dumb-bell" machine, especially for performing dynamical, isometric exercises and developing intermedial resistance and strength, comprises a framework with at least one weight column 11 consisting of flat weights arranged displaceably on a vertical guide and in the holes formed in the weights along a vertical line a ribbed rod 28 is arranged, the narrower cylindrical parts of which are accessible from the side through distance elements arranged between the weights such that a weight-lifting fork may be positioned between the weights so that only these weights lying above the fork will be lifted. The rod may be connected either directly or by interposing one or more pulleys to a special machine serving for strengthening the musculature, other devices not requiring weightlifting and being suitable for the performance of different exercises may be connected to the framework. <IMAGE></p> |
