<p>An ultrasonic probe is designed so that the vibratory energy transmitted to a workpiece can be measured and converted into electrical pulses.The sensor is a piezoelectric quartz block which is built into a stem at a node of the vibrations produced by an ultrasonic generator at the other end of the stem. When used in an ultrasonic welding appliance, this probe contacts the workpiece by a stylus and supplies useful signals for optimising the welds produced.</p> |
