The operating method for a pneumatically ventilated silo for fine grained goods uses an air pressure source which supplies a first flow of air to the silo floor and/or the outflow area of the silo and a second air flow directed to the pneumatic conveyor installation connected to the silo. The volume of the first air flow is selected dependent on the air pressure present in the supply pipe in such a way that when a predetermined air pressure value is exceeded the first air flow is reduced and the second air flow is increased.
