A damper cylinder (11) is provided with a forked end (25) which can be pushed over a location pivot on installation. On one side of the rectangular fork plate (28), a hinged locking latch (26) is attached. When the cylinder fork is installed on a pivot shaft, the locking latch is automatically forced to a position where its free end (29) is placed across the location fork (30). Thus the pivot is secured in its location until the locking latch is manually released.
