The interlock is intended for a tractor gear selector and has the inching gear position selected by operating a remote control and enabling a locking cam to grip the selector control (9). The gear is held until the remote control is operated again. The remote control has a spring-loaded pin (2) which drops into a ratchet recess on the rear of the control. It provides a positive location of the inching gear, with heavy torque capability, and with no danger of inadvertently selecting the gear, causing transmission damage.
