<p>Washing machine has a storage tank for hot, used wash liquor which is used to heat the water for subsequent rinsing or washing water. The tank pref. surrounds the lower part of the washing tub, whereby direct exchange of heat can occur between the fresh water and the used liquor. The arrangement may also include a heat-exchanger coil through which the ingoing fresh water runs to increase the heat-transfer. This construction allows a series of washes at decreasing temps., e.g. first wash 95 deg.C; second wash 55-60 deg.C; third wash 35-40 deg.C; to be made without the need for any additional heat input for the second and third washes.</p> |
