The system enables paints of different colours to be sprayed alternately, using a gun and compressed air, the paints being supplied via flexible hose from a remote point. On changing colours the paint passages in the gun are flushed through with a neutral solution, the emerging mixture of solution and old paint being collected in a flushing pipe without mixing with the ambient air. To allow manual spray-painting, each working position has two guns (1) used alternately, these being connected manually to a separate hose for the particular colour. An automatic flushing unit (11) with unions for the solution (14,15) and the flushing pipe (26) accommodates a gun. On changeover, both gun and paint hose are changed, one gun being flushed while the other is in use.
