Soap scouring pads - mfd. by injecting soap solution in metal wool rolls and pressing to shape

Soap scouring pads for cleaning pots and pans are made by winding metal wool strips into rolls on a hollow spindle with radial holes at the winding area. A soap soln. is injected inside each roll before the rolls are dropped on a conveyor and pressed into the desired shape. Specifically a turntable is fitted with hollow spindles on which rolls of metal roll are wound from a strip. A soap soln. is injected through radial holes in the spindles to adhere to the metal wool. The spindles are withdrawn to drop the rolls on a conveyor which takes them to a press where dies produce the desired shape. This process is ideal for mass prodn. and has fewer operational stages than conventional methods.
