The portable power tool comprises a rotatable element, such as a nut, to secure e.g. a grinding disc on the tool spindle (5). The nut is prevented from rotating whilst permitting its axial movement, and at the same time rotating the spindle to tighten or unscrew the nut. A handle (28) is provided on a spring-loaded (29) shaft (26) with a pinion (27) capable of engaging and rotating a gear wheel (30) on the motor (2) shaft. A lever (24) is operated by the shaft so that a latch (22) enters a groove (21) in a bush (14) which is rotatable on the spindle (5). This is non-rotatably coupled to the nut, via a radial pin in a bush engaging an axial slot in the nut.
