Turbocharged IC engine dynamic additional charging - uses peripheral pressure pulses, generated in buffer chamber between compressor and engine cylinders by suction strokes

The energy, used for additional charging is supplied by the turbine by increasing the velocity of suction air column in front of the compressor during the period of low pressure in the buffer chamber. The velocity increase is related to mean velocity of the compressor air flow. The generated bimetric energy is converted in the buffer chamber into an additional charge pressure. In the engine a charge compressor is pref. allocated to individual cylinders, on the cylinder group. The suction manifold between the charge compressor (5) and cylinders forms the buffer chamber (12) with a volume of max. 3/2 of that of an individual cylinder. The suction branch (13) of each compressor has a volume, which is a multiple of that of the buffer chamber.
