PURPOSE:To decrease rectification loss and make a smoothing capacitor small in capacity by connecting to the capacitor two diode terminal groups divided so that the output waveform phases thereof may differ by a given angle using the coils of a smoothing transformer. CONSTITUTION:AC input is transformed by a 3-6 phase transformer 1, inputted to the smoothing trnansformer 5 via diodes 2 and outputted to the smoothing condenser 3. Herein, the output waveforms of the diodes 2 are indicated to have maximum DC output I0/2 and flow angle 120 deg.. The waveforms of the voltages between A and D and between B and D are indicated as (a) and (b) in the drawing and odd-number higher harmonic components are outputted in opposite phases to each other. Therefore, the odd-number higher harmonic components of the waveform (d) of the output between C and D is cancelled. Thereby, maximum DC current becomes small so that the loss of the rectification by the diode can be decreased and a smoothing reactor and a smoothing capacitor can be made small in capacity. |
