In a bow thruster a tunnel 16 containing a propeller 17 extends transversely of the ship and is pivotable about an axis longitudinal of the ship. The tunnel 16 is connected to coverplates 20 and is pivotable from a horizontal transverse position in which it registers with openings 15 in a bow bulb to a vertical position in which plates 20 close openings 15. The propeller has adjustable blades and is driven by an electric motor in housing 18. |
