<p>PURPOSE:To realize a low-cost protection mechanism of simple constitution by providing a pulling-in mechanism for a protection pin that interlocks with the pushing-in operation of the handle of a reel hub so as to lock a magnetic tape reel. CONSTITUTION:Handle 2 of reel hub 1 is provided with collar 4 and cam 5 engaging with it and lever 6 rotated by cam 5 are provided stop of protection pin 7. In this constitution, even if handle 2 is operated while reel 3 has not write enable ring 8, microswitch 9 never operates and write operation is disabled because lever 6 is beyond the operation range of cam 5. When ring 8 is provided, loading reel 3 permits lever 6 to move to position (b) in the figure. With handle 2 pushed in, cam 5 moves lever 6 to position (c) to operate switch 9, so that the write operation will be possible. Thus, the protection mechanism of simple constitution can be obtained.</p> |
