<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of error patterns by assigning a word signal, consisting of a minimum continuous number of code symbols for the conversion word of a reference step of video data by using a conversion word signal, whose DC level is zero, for block encoding. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal is supplied to data converting circuit 2, where it is converted into a digital signal, which is recorded by recording head HR after passing through amplifier 5. The block of the color video signal has synchronizing signal SYNC, identification signal ID, address signal AD, data, a CRC code, etc. Synchronizing signal SYNC is used for synchronization in reproduction and among zero-disparity words ZD, two ZD words having a minimum number of error patterns, i.e. a minimum number of continuous 1 or 0 are selected. As to video data, an intermediate step among steps appearing frequently is regarded as reference one and for the conversion word of this reference step, a word signal having a minimum number of continuous code symbols is assigned. Therefore, this constitution can prevent the generation of an error pattern.</p> |
