PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an electrode easily with high precision and to improve its strength by equipping an electrode base material, vapor-deposited on a stylus body, with an electrode having its bottom surface and ridge parts, close to the bottom surface, polished. CONSTITUTION:A base material such as sapphire and diamond is polished nearly in the shape of desired stylus body 251 and to the entirety of stylus body 251, electrode base material 254 is stuck by being sputtered or vapor-deposited. The part that corresponds to bottom surface 253 of the base material having electrode base material 254 stuck is polished and the bottom suface and four ridge parts A, B, (c), and (d) except prescribed electrode 252 are cut in a C shape and polished to finish it in the prescribed bottom surface shape. Thus, the electrode can be formed easily with high precision and the pickup element structure having the strength improved sufficiently can be obtained. |
