PURPOSE:To enable the easy adjustment of any pulse voltage wich is developed in a starter, by installing a starter, which includes a heat-operated element and is confined in a case which is charged with gas at not less than a given pressure at an ordnary temperature, in an outer tube together with an emission tube. CONSTITUTION:A bimetal 3 is provided in a case 24 made of a glass or the like, which is filled with gas at a pressure of not more than 100 Torr at an ordinary temperaure. As a result, at the instance when the bimetal 3 is opened, the gas induced discharge, which can absorb the high-tension pulse over a given height. A starter 7, which comprises the bimetal 3 and a filament 6 which heats the bimetal 3 to open is provided in an outer tube 8 together with an emission tube 1. Consequently, any high-tension pulse which is developed in the starter 7 can be easily controlled, and damage to a lighting circuit and a ballast can be prevented. |
