PURPOSE:To make it possible to moderately perform up-shift speed change upon abruptly returning an accelerator pedal, by decreasing the speed of operation of a speed change actuator in an up-shift direction in accordance with an increase in speed of variation of engine load. CONSTITUTION:An engine load change speed detecting means A detects a speed of variation in engine load. A moderate up-shift speed change means B decreases the speed of operation of a speed change actuator C in an up-shift direction in accordance with an increase in speed of variation of engine load. When the speed of variation of engine load is large, the speed of operation of the speed change actuator in the up-shift direction is decreased, thereby it is possible to obtain a sufficient engine brake effect. |
