PURPOSE:To obtain the high efficiency of photocoupling by a method wherein a light guide is previously mounted between a light receiving surface and a light propagating body through extensible photocoupling materials when a hole corresponding to the light receiving surface is bored to a cathode electrode installed to a light trigger thyristor and the light propagating body is inserted into the hole. CONSTITUTION:The anode emitter side of a light trigger thyristor 1 is connected to an anode electrode 3 in Mo, etc., a coefficient of thermal expansion thereof closely resembles the thyristor 1 and mechanical strength thereof is great, through a metallic plate 2, and an electrode 7 is attached at the opposing cathode electrode 7 side through a ring-shaped Al metallic electrode 5 with a light receiving section 4. When a hole is formed to the electrode 7 and a light propagating body 15 contacting with the light receiving section 4 is inserted into the hole, a light guide 21, upper and lower ends thereof each have photocoupling materials 22, 23 consisting of optical transparent substance having elasticity, is put between the light receiving section 4 and the propagating body 15. The thyristor 1 is surrounded by an enclosing instrument 10. Thus, reliability regarding thermal and mechanical stress is improved, and the efficiency of photocoupling is enhanced. |
