<p>A method of manufacturing anatomically shaped short knickers by knitting a folded web of knitwear in which the opposing sides of the web 1a, 1b are connected to one another transversely to the direction of production of the web at spaced intervals as at 7 along the web to form longitudinal sections (a), and the courses of threads extending transversely to the direction of production of the web are interrupted repeatedly in one of the sides at a fixed distance from the fold 2 in the web to form two slit-like leg openings 3 in each section.
