Fitting plastic window frame in cavity wall - using U=section with flanges inserted in U=shaped loops of strips fixed in wall opening

The arrangement secures a window frame (13), partic. a plastic frame, in a window opening in a cavity (3) wall (1,2). A number of spring brackets (5,7,8,9) with clamping portions (7,8) are inserted in the cavity and secured (10) to one or both wall skins (1,2) along at least two sides of the wall opening. A U-section (11) has its parallel flanges inserted in the clamping portions and the frame is inserted in the opening and secured by screws (21) through bores in the frame and corresponding bores in the U-sections. The brackets may be strips each having two U-shaped spring loops (7,8) inserted into the cavity and capable of receiving the flanges of the U-section.
