PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic emulsion with narrow grain size distribution by installing a primary soln. introduction chamber provided with a partition wall in the center of a reaction chamber in a cylindrical outer wall and installing a secondary soln. introduction chamber around the reaction chamber. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous silver salt soln. and an aqueous halide soln. are fed from inflow passes 12, 14 into secondary soln. introduction chamber 6 around reaction chamber 3 and primary soln. introduction chamber 5 installed in the center of chamber 3 through partition wall 4, and they are introduced from the 1st openings 9 for connection and the 2nd openings 11 for connection into cylindrical chamber 3 holding an aqueous soln. of hydrophilic protective colloid fed from inflow pass 13. In chamber 3 the solns. are allowed to react with each other while being agitated with agitator 2 provided with agitating vanes 2a and rotating shaft 2b to form silver halide emulsion crystals, which are then discharged through outflow pass 15. |
