PURPOSE:To reduce the percentage of defect such as ununiformity of shading of a color, pinholes and others in a transfer method wherein a transfer sheet on which a desired picture pattern is printed in a paint or ink containing a pigment is put on an object to perform transfer printing, by repeating transfer. CONSTITUTION:When, for example, a cylindrical molded article to be subjected to transfer printing has a circumferential length of l, the transfer paper has a picture pattern layer 3 having a length of 2l. On a substrate sheet 1 are formed a release layer 2, the picture pattern layer 3, and an adhesive layer 4 by the known method. Using this transfer paper, the molded article, after it has been subjected to transfer printing, will have a double printed structure as shown in cross section. In this case, it is necessary to register the picture pattern layer 3 in the double structure. Thus, ununiformity of shading of a color, pinholes and others that would be resulted by single transfer printing hardly occur. |
