PURPOSE:To enable appropriate copying to be performed constantly under optimum conditions according to copying conditions or the like, by thermally recording a data mark at a position proximate to a cutting line when a thermal recording sheet is cut. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording sheet 1 is provided with a data mark 3 consisting of a code mark 2 obtained by coding various copying conditions such as reactive sensitivity of the sheet 1, sheet size, sheet thickness, developed color and reducing factor, at an end edge part on the insertion side and an end edge part on the other side of the sheet 1 on the side of a thermal recording layer 1a. The code marks 2 are thermally recorded by a thermal head when the thermal sheet 1 is cut. The code mark 2, consisting of five thermal recorded marks 2a-2e, can represents 2<5> (=32) pieces of data. With the coded data mark thus thermally recorded, it is made possible to automatically switch the mode of a thermal recorder according to the various copying conditions or the like and to perform thermal recording constantly under optimum conditions according to the copying conditions or the like. |
