A stand 10 defined by wall sections 12 to accommodate replaceable containers for waste, especially household refuse, has an open wall section 12d, which affords access to a replaceable refuse container 36 placed in the stand. The stand 10 is designed for mounting on a load- bearing abutment 18 by means of connecting elements 26, 28, which permit a movement 30 of the stand 10 in relation to the abutment 18, from a position in which the wall section 12d is freely accessible from outside to a position opposite the abutment 18 and vice versa. <IMAGE>
