PURPOSE:To increase the range of observable distance, by securing a gradual attenuation for the power of a received infrared-ray radar via the prescribed compensation. CONSTITUTION:The reflected infrared-ray laser which is received and detected by the infrared-ray detector 1 and then demodulated by the demodulator 3 is multiplied by the multiplier 13 by the integral output proportional to the square of the light transmission and reception times of the infrared-ray laser obtained by the integrator 11 of the output voltage of the ramp voltage generating circuit 9 via the trigger pulse generator 7 and the delaying circuit 8. As a result, a slow attenuation is given to the power of the received infrared-ray laser which is proportional to the square of the transmission/reception times which are demodulated by the demodulator 3. Accordingly, a long distance which has hitherto too large absorption attenuation to be observed can be measured, thus increasing the range of observable distance. |
