[Also in Divisions G4-G6] Mosaic printers.-In a thermoprinting device similar to those described in Specifications 1,190,709 and 1,205,376, some of the electrical resistors forming the bar printing elements are in one row and the other elements required to make up a complete mosaic are in other rows. As shown in Fig. 5, elements 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 are in one row and elements 1, 5, 7, 9 are in the next row. Printing is effected from elements in one row whereupon the paper is fed forward to a new position in which printing is then effected from the second row. The elements are on a substrate consisting of a fused quartz or boron silicate glass. Operation.-Electrical operation is described in Division G4. |
