The device forms a movable unit and comprises a heatable container (14) which contains the spraying material (13), a pump (31), a motor (24) which drives the latter, an electrically heatable line (20) for the spraying material (13) leading to a spraying nozzle (21), and a supply (23) of a fuel provided for heating the container. The fuel also serves for driving the motor (24) in addition to for heating the container (14). When hot spraying material - such as for example bitumen, wax, resin, asphalt - is brought to a workplace, there is a risk that the spraying material in the line leading to the spraying nozzle will cool down and solidify. Even during an interruption of work, the line can be blocked by spraying material which has solidified during cooling. These disadvantages are avoided by the unit additionally comprising a generator (26) for generating electrical energy, which can be driven by the motor (24) and serves for heating the line (20). <IMAGE>
