The device, which can be attached to the work surface of a sewing machine, consists of a baseplate (1), of a magazine holder (3) fastened on the latter and having a magazine (15) for small articles (12) and of a pivotable feed arm (2) having a holding device for the small articles (12) which is arranged on it. By manual pivoting of the feed arm (2), the holding device can be brought out of a loading position (A), coinciding with the magazine (15), into a sewing position (B), and vice versa, the feed to the holding device and the release of the sewn small article (12) taking place automatically without additional operating actions. <IMAGE>
