Evacuated platform for assembly of polystyrene framed display panels - for convenient assembly of panel and frames by solvent welding

Display frames involving use of angular polystyrene edging profiles supporting a back panel secured by solvent welding are assembled using a working platform shaped to centre the panel and the frame members respectively and to consolidate a solvent treated joint by compression from a cover plate. The cover plate has a soft (rubber) seal profile along its borders. Both the cover plate and the surface of the supporting platform, which is porous, can be evacuated to assist clamping and to remove superfluous solvent as vapour. Suitable for mfr. of single panel display boards or multi-panel free-standing poster display structures.
