Plate catalyst for redn. of NOx from waste gases, comprises a metal grid(1) of 10 - 100 meshes, a finely divided porous catalyst support(2) held on the grid by an inorganic binder condensed by dehydration, and an active component lodged in the porous support. The catalyst is used esp. in reducing Nox released from power stations, heating and sintering furnaces, various chemical plant and vehicle exhausts by catalytic redn. with NH3. The structure is stronger than the prior art honeycomb arrangement and less expensive to construct. It is formed without heating to high temps. and is made much thinner than the honeycomb structure.
