In preparing biaxially oriented film, at first undrawn poly (ethylene 2.6-naphthalate) films were stretched to 300-500% lengthwise at 10≦̸-170≦̸C above the secondary transition point and next withwise with drawing ratio as given by eq. I [ X = with wise drawing ratio, Tt = withwise drawing temp (≦̸C) at 40≦̸- 100≦̸C.
