PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a photosensitive body by stopping a transfer pre-charger earlier than a transfer charger and destaticizing the part of the photosensitive body electrified by the transfer pre-charger by the transfer charger before stopping the photosensitive body at the time of completing a copying process. CONSTITUTION:The transfer pre-charger 4 is installed, which destaticizes the surface of the photosensitive body 1 in the pre-stage of a transfer part for transferring toner image formed on the surface of the photosensitive body 1 onto a transfer material. At the time of completing the copying process, the transfer pre-charger 4 is stopped earlier than the transfer charger 5 and the transfer charger 5 destaticizes the part of the photosensitive body 1 electrified by the transfer pre-charger 4 before stopping the photosensitive body 1. Even if the part of the photosensitive body 1 passing through the transfer pre-charger 4 at the end of the copying process is inversely electrified, the inverse electrification is removed by the transfer charger 5. Thus, the occurrence of a memory on the photosensitive body caused by the residual inverse electrification and the deterioration of the photosensitive body can be prevented. |
