<p>A hydraulic brake booster comprising a housjng in which are slidably received aligned input and output members, and a valve member controlling fluid communication to a first pressure chamber thereby providing said output member with a hydraulic power assist force during braking, said valve member being actuated by fluid pressure developed by the input member within a second pressure chamber.</p><p>According to this invention, the input member (54) extends throughout the first pressure chamber (40) and has an annular face exposed to the fluid pressure established therein, whereas the output member (70) projects into the second pressure chamber (42) only, this arrangement substantially reducing the overall length of the booster.</p><p>For use in braking systems for automotive vehicles.</p> |
