Operator desks (T1) comprise a handset (C) connected to a low- frequency link (lf) and a console (P) provided with means for data transmission and reception and connected to a digital channel (dc) and the system comprises: at least one attaching unit (UR1) connected on the one hand to a group of operator desks (GT1) by the said low- frequency links (lf) and the said digital channels (dc) of each of the desks of the group, and on the other hand to the connection network (RCX) by a time-multiplexing link (PCM-T) and at least one peripheral (UPT) driven by the central computer, and allocated to the data exchanges between the operator desks and the said computer and attached to the connection network by a time-multiplexing link (PCM-U).
