Oil slick clearing device - using suction applied to floating duct with parallel discs

Device to remove by suction an oil slick floating on surface waters consists of a horizontal suction duct which carries a number of parallel vertical discs. The duct has in each gap between the discs a suction opening through which the oil is extracted. Such a device works efficiently even when the oil slick is very thin. It is simple and removes the oil with a minimum admixture of water, even in a heavy sea.
