FRESHNESS RETAINING AGENT FOR VEGETABLE AND FRUIT

PURPOSE:To retain the freshness of a vegetable and a fruit, by using dawsonite [NaAl(OH)2CO3]. CONSTITUTION:A powdery, granular or particulate dawsonite is mixed with preferably a suitable adsorbent, e.g. active carbon, zeolite or alumina, at a weight ratio between the dawsonite and the adsorbent of about 1:0.5-1:1 and packaged in an air-permeable packaging material, or contained in or applied to paper or plastic film and packaged with a vegetable and a fruit or contained in a box.
