The thermoelectric generator system comprises several generators each of whose E.M.F. versus degree centigrade curve has a maximum turning point. The generators are operated in that region of the curve behind the maximum when the temperature being measured is increasing. The operating point is defined by a specified equation. The Q of the generators employed is also given by a specified equation as is the efficiency. Each generator has one of its elements made of germanium or cobalt.
